Carmen Beasley Obituary

Oak Park,

Mrs. Carmen J. Beasley, age 84, of Oak Park, died Friday, April 14, 2023, in the Community Hospice House, in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Oak Park and spent most of her life in Prattville, Alabama before moving back to Oak Park four years ago. She worked in the Social Security Administration for the Office of Hearings and Appeals and retired as a supervisor after thirty-two years of service. She attended the Church of Christ in Metter and loved family, fishing on the river, and cooking. Mrs. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Minnie Williams; stepmother, Eva Williams; four sisters, Gerry White, Lynn Cross, Carolyn Bailey, Francis Dillon; and one brother, Donald Williams.

Mrs. Carmen’s surviving loved ones include, her husband of thirty-one years, Wesley Beasley of Oak Park, who she met while riding down the interstate and communicating on a CB radio as "Alabama Sunshine;" children, Jenny Dunn and husband Glenn of Prattville, Alabama, Dale Mathis and wife Kelly of Ridgeville, South Carolina, Cameron Beasley and wife Catina of Stillmore, Alice Pippins and husband Donald of Bonifay, Florida, and Gen Salyers and husband David of Four Oaks, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.

The funeral service will be held Monday, April 17th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. The burial will follow in Oak Park City Cemetery.
