Margaret (Harris) Anderson

Mrs. Margaret Anderson, age 80, of Normantown, died Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Memorial Health Hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Zaidee and has lived in Normantown since 1988. Margaret was the founder and operator of Care Transport. She was Baptist by faith and treasured time spent with family as well as her beloved Jack Russell, Hollie. She also loved spending time in her garden, with her horses and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mabel Harris; and two siblings, Frank Harris III and Mary Helen Tapley.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of seventeen years, JB Anderson of Normantown; five children, Deborah Gainey and husband Mike of St. George, Susan Odom of Hoboken, Sam Nester with Chris Nelson of Jacksonville, Florida, Bill Laird and wife Rene of Dublin, and JR Laird and wife Shannon of Cobbtown; one sister, June Joyce and husband Troy of Vero Beach, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six great- great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.

The memorial service will be held Friday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home with Brother Rick Laird officiating.
