Mason McCarty

Mr. Mason Andrew McCarty, age 23, of Vidalia, died Monday, June 5, 2023, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. He was a native of Toombs County and lived most of his life there. He worked as a mechanic at McCarty’s Customs and as a carpenter for Scott Bridge Company. He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in the Kibbee Community. He loved his children, playing video games and would light up any room he walked into. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Douglas McCarty and Sandra Horne; maternal grandfather, Samuel Robinson; paternal great-grandmother, Edna Ryder; and grandmother, Rebecca Phillips.

Mr. McCarty is survived by his fiancé, Anna Faircloth; one son, Luke McCarty; one daughter, Layla McCarty, all of Vidalia; his mother, Lori Robinson of the Kibbee Community; his father, Scott McCarty and wife Deidre of Metter; maternal grandmother, Edna Robinson of the Kibbee Community; grandparents, Harley and Lisa Strickland of Vidalia; ten siblings, Felicia Hickey and husband Daniel of Augusta, Dylan McCarty and fiancé Chelsa of Mount Vernon, Cherie Hodges and husband Jordan of Locust Grove, Jason Cook and Josh Cook, both of Vidalia, Maci McCarty and wife Alana Johnson of Swainsboro, Marlon Conner, Jason Conner, Nicholas Pope, and Bradley Pope all of Glenwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 until just prior to the service.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery in Candler County.

The pallbearers are Dylan McCarty, Jason Cook, Duston Hinson, Marlon Conner, Jayson Conner, Cody Faircloth, and Bryan Conrad.
