Olivia "Suzie" (Parrish) Gonzalez

Mrs. Olivia “Suzie” Gonzalez, age 62, of Plant City, Florida, died Friday, June 9, 2023, at her home after a brief illness. She was a native of Montgomery County, Georgia and lived most of her life in Plant City, Florida. She was a member of Victory Church in Lakeland, Florida. She was a caregiver to all, loved music and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristina Faith Gonzalez; parents, Elmer Ray Parrish and Mary Elizabeth Powell Parrish; paternal grandparents, John Parrish and Lily Braddy Parrish; and maternal grandparents, Clyde Dewitt Powell and Annie Myrtle Mercer Powell.

Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jose Gonzalez; three sons, Andy Gonzalez, David Gonzalez and wife Becky, and Matthew Gonzalez; three daughters, Julia Gonzalez, Lisa Gonzalez and fiancé James Dickens, and Rebecca Gonzalez, all of Plant City, Florida; one sister, Cynthia Lyle and husband James of Mount Vernon; one half-sister, Christine Parrish of Georgia; one brother, Danny Wayne Parrish and wife Glenda Melton of North Carolina; one half-brother, Quincy Parrish of Denton; one uncle, Dewitt Powell and wife Delores of Mount Vernon; numerous nieces and nephews including James D. Lyle of Mount Vernon, Jennifer Meacham and husband Chris, and Robert Dustin Lyle and wife Hannah, all of Dublin; one great-aunt, Pearl Pennington of Thomasville; numerous cousins including Vickie Powell, Chris Powell and Christopher Powell; and beloved pets, Princess, Lucy, Bear, Gus and Dobby. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 16th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home with David Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez officiating. The burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
