Ray Bridges

Mr. Ray Bridges, age 70, of Soperton, died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Winter Haven, Florida and spent most of his life there before moving to Soperton in 2020. Ray was a mechanic and had his own small engine shop in Soperton and was Baptist by faith. He loved working on model trains and lawnmowers, fishing, and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Candy Bridges; and two brothers, Marvin “Billy” Ard and Raymond Kenneth Bridges.

Mr. Ray is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Bridges Byrd with Lee Gibson of Richmond Hill; seven siblings, Donald Ard and wife Dian of Chipley, Florida, Jimmy Ard and wife Diane of Auburndale, Florida, Clyde Bridges and wife Christine of Soperton, Debbie Varnes and husband Jimbo of Soperton, Ronnie Bridges of Polk City, Florida, and Dennis Bridges of Winter Haven, Florida; five grandchildren, Brayleigh Byrd, Blakely Byrd, Rhett Byrd, Everleigh Byrd, and Layla Gibson.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
