Robert Bryant Obituary

Mr. Robert Marshall Bryant, Sr., age 68 of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin after a brief illness. He was born in Atlanta and lived in St. Pete, Florida for many years before moving to Mt. Vernon in 1992. He was a trucker for 50 years and a veteran of the United States Navy. Robert was Baptist by faith and a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all, he was a loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melton Robert and Nell Cooper; and one brother, Stanley Cooper. 

Robert is survived by two sons, Robert Bryant, Jr. and wife Amberly of Newnan, and Bradley Bryant of McRae-Helena; one daughter, Cassie Bryant of Vidalia; one brother, Wayne Cooper and wife Tina of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Sheila Cooper of Uvalda; two grandchildren, Bradley Austin Bryant, and Annabelle Bryant; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:00am in the chapel of Wilkes Funeral Home with Pastor Owen Waters officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date.
