Sara Will (Morris) Outler

Sara Will “Nookie” Morris Outler, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, formerly of Alston, Georgia, died Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at her home. She was 96.​

​​Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (EDT),Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in the Wilkes Funeral Home Chapel, Vidalia, Georgia, with Reverend Owen Waters and Reverend Robbie Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. (EDT),Tuesday, at Wilkes Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Vidalia, Georgia with Pastor Henry Fullington officiating. 

​Mrs. Outler was born and reared in Alston, Georgia, daughter of the late Guy Morris and Willie Mae Simpson Morris. She was a graduate of Montgomery County High School and also Brewton Parker Junior College. Mrs. Outler lived in Alston, GA most of her lifetime before moving to Abbeville. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, near Mt. Vernon, GA and was also under the watch care of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, near Abbeville. Mrs. Outler was a loving “Mama”, “Mema”,“Aunt Nookie”, and friend to many. She loved her Lord and Savior and her country. Mrs. Outler was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Outler, Sr., a great-grandchild, Caleb Archibald, three sisters, Austine Downie, Wilma Ussery and Betty Wheeler, and three brothers, Ray Morris, Rex Morris and Ernest Morris.

​Surviving relatives include a daughter, Judy Outler Fullington (Henry), Abbeville; a son, James D. Outler, Jr. (Betty), Alston GA; grandchildren, Kyle Outler (Sheila), Gina Archibald, LeAnna Connell (Russ) and Jennifer Daniels (Jody); great-grandchilden, Ashley Outler, Darby Connell, Aden Archibald, Mason Connell, Camron Outler, John Franklin Daniels and Jarrett Outler Daniels; a beloved sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joann and Warren Gilbert.

​Serving as active pallbearers will be Kyle Outler, Camron Outler, Jody Daniels, Aden Archibald, Russ Connell and Mason Connell.
